- Zero width space
U+200BInvisible and takes no space. Many apps trim it from the start or end of a field, but it survives in the middle of text.
- No-break space
U+00A0Looks like a normal space but is never used as a line break point. Supported everywhere, including HTML as a non-breaking space.
- Hangul filler
U+3164Renders as a blank, letter-sized glyph. Discord, Instagram and TikTok accept it as a real character, so a bio line or username can look empty.
- Braille blank
U+2800A blank braille dot pattern. Works like the Hangul filler for empty-looking Discord messages and usernames, and is not stripped as whitespace.
- Invisible separator
U+2063A zero width formatting character meant to mark a word boundary. Most apps display nothing and add no visible gap.
- Word joiner
U+2060Zero width, and stops the text on either side of it from ever wrapping onto separate lines.
- Zero width non-joiner
U+200CStops two neighboring letters from joining into a connected shape, mainly used when typing Arabic, Persian and other cursive scripts.

Invisible character FAQ
Why does a blank username get rejected on some apps?
Many apps reject a field that is empty or made only of normal whitespace. The Hangul filler and braille blank characters count as real letters, so a field made of them looks blank but is accepted as non-empty.
Will these characters work in every app?
No. Support varies by platform and even by field within the same app, since some strip leading or trailing whitespace-like characters automatically. Each card above notes where that character tends to hold up.
How do I find an invisible character someone sent me?

Are invisible characters accessible to screen readers?
