What is key rollover and ghosting?
Rollover is how many keys a keyboard can register at once. Ghosting happens on cheaper keyboards when certain combinations of 3 or more keys fail to register, which matters most for gaming.
Why doesn't a key light up when I press it?
Check that the key is not stuck or that another program is not intercepting it. If several nearby keys fail together, that is usually ghosting rather than a broken key.
Why do some keys show a laptop layout instead of a full keyboard?
Laptops usually leave out the numeric keypad to save space. Turn on the compact layout toggle to hide the numpad on this page and match a laptop keyboard.
Does this work with a phone's on-screen keyboard?
It reads events from a real hardware keyboard, or one connected over Bluetooth or USB. Most phone on-screen keyboards do not send the same key codes, so results can be incomplete.
