What frequency is note A4?
A4 is 440 Hz, the standard reference pitch most instruments are tuned to. This page includes it as a one-click preset along with other common notes.
What is a sweep used for?
A sweep plays every frequency from 20 Hz to 20 kHz in turn, which is useful for finding a rattling part in a speaker enclosure or a dead spot in a driver.
What does binaural mode do?
It plays a slightly different frequency in each ear, which only works correctly over headphones. The tiny difference creates a pulsing beat that some people use for focus or relaxation.
Why should I start at a low volume?
A tone at full volume, especially above a few hundred Hz, can be startling and loud enough to cause discomfort or hearing damage over headphones. Raise the volume slowly after you start.
